Walking into this anime without any idea of it's premise, I was a little tepid about this show.
THEN . . .
I started to watch more of it . . .
DESPITE the endless opportunities for fanservice and comic nudity, it is kind of a fun show.
As I get older and have seen enough "fanservice for the sake of fanservice" shows,
(that also seem to have an overwhelming abundance of character goods),
It can get to be boring as hell when you can constantly predict the next cliché moments before it happens.
Fortunately Ladies Vs. Butlers keeps that kind of crap to a minimum.
It's still kind of predicable but the story and the characters are just far enough out of the ordinary
to keep me interested.
They still tend to over-due the comic nudity but sometimes it actually helps the plot along...
Something you just don't see very often.
The fans at ANN seem to think this is worth about a 6.7 to 6.9...
At AniDB they are only slightly less generous with 6.4 to 6.8....
I haven't seen it all yet but I'm thinking it's worth a 7.5 or so . . .
Barring any kind of totally crappy ending....... (2010-3-27)
Well . . . the ending was kind of lame . . . being they broke the "fourth wall" and admitted it was kind of lame
That actually redeemed it considerably.
In my world, if you are a bit of a turd about things and you admit it, at least you're honest....
Honesty, while being highly over-rated, is appreciated.(2010-4-4)
It is re-watchable.. and in My world of anime, re-watch-ablity is a quality indicator.
Whether it indicates good or bad quality . . . I guess you'll have to figure that out yourself.
I'll settle and give it an 8.
